1) Drones believed to be of Russian origin have buzzed airports and military sites in Denmark, Norway, Sweden, France, Germany and others. They appear to have been launched from civilian ships offshore. Danish PM Mette Frederiksen said: “We are going to see more sabotage, more hacking, more drones, undersea cables being destroyed. Direct attacks on European democracies, as we currently see in the small country of Moldova. That Denmark and Europe are under more severe hybrid attacks, I consider to be a new reality.”
2) Links between Russia and Reform are starting to surface. Close Farage ally and the former leader of Reform in Wales Nathan Gill has admitted taking bribes to make favourable statements about Russia while an MEP. He took cash from Oleg Voloshyn, whom the US describes as a pawn of Russian secret services. Gill will be sentenced in November.
3) Despite a lot of media accepting Putin propaganda, Ukraine is making advances in the war. Not only have they now disabled 20% of Russian oil refining capability which pays for the war effort, in Povrosk the Ukrainian armed forces have liberated 160 sq km, cleared 170 sq km and freed 16 settlements. It’s disrupted the Russian offensive in the sector. Three groups of Russian fighters are now encircled.
4) South Korean President Lee Jae Myung says North Korea is very close to developing an ICBM which could strike the US with a nuclear weapon.
5) Huntington’s Disease has been successfully treated for the first time. Prof Sarah Tabrizi of UCL’s Huntington’s Disease Centre revealed how the new gene therapy slowed the advance of the illness in 75% of cases. Huntington’s runs in families and is essentially a combination of dementia, Parkinson’s and motor neurone disease.
